His nickname may be Goldenballs, but David Beckham was given a silver touch as part of a new campaign for H&M. Huge statues of the football player wearing just his pants were erected in various locations around New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco, proving he truly is a larger than life star. The unveiling coincided with the release of new black and white shots which showcase his new range for the chain.

In a statement he said: 'I am so excited about this new campaign for David Beckham Bodywear at H&M. I wanted to express the strength and quality of the David Beckham Bodywear collection with these images and also the wearability and fit. 'I love the range and feel so comfortable in each of the pieces. It has become second nature for me to wear it!'

The affordably priced bodywear range includes vests and long-sleevers as well as boxer shorts and briefs and will be available at around 1800 H&M stores in 44 countries worldwide, as well as online. Beckham recently lent his support to Team GB's Olympic team following his disappointment at not being selected for the nation's football team. He was given a role as ambassador for the games, which he helped bring to London, and had a pivotal role in delivering the Olympic torch to the stadium on the night of the opening ceremony.
