A US air force detachment will be stationed in Poland soon ahead of next year’s deployment of F-16 fighter jets and S-130 transport planes at a temporary base near Morag under a bilateral agreement with the Polish government, Pentagon spokesman George Little said on Thursday. Morag is a few dozen kilometers from the Russian border. Currently deployed there are U.S. Patriots interceptor rockets.They are to be joined by SM-3 rockets capable of intercepting short to mid-range ballistic missiles.
