Queen Elizabeth II has “earmarked” Anmer Hall to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, “as they prepare to welcome their first child,” reports The Daily Mail. Anmer Hall one of the many charming properties that lies in the Sandringham estate. It’s late Georgian in design, two miles away from Her Majesty’s own Sandringham House. “The Duke spent much of his childhood holidays exploring the Grade II listed house, which has been part of the estate since 1898, and its grounds and has fond memories of the mansion

house.” Anmer Hall was also home to the Duke and Duchess of Kent. They moved here in 1972 after financial constraints forced them to sell Coppins, their country house in Iver, Buckinghamshire. They eventually moved out and transferred to Crockerend House. The current tenant is James Everett, a kitchen and timber magnate, whose lease will end in 2017, although it is not known if he ever plans to stay that long. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge lives at Nottingham Cottage, a one-bedroom cottage at the Kensington Palace grounds, although they are set to move to the spacious Apartment 1A (formerly occupied by Princess Margaret) this year after its renovation.
