Ban lifted, Shah Rukh Khan can enter Wankhede Stadium

Bollywood superstar and Kolkata Knight Riders team owner Shah Rukh Khan will finally be able to watch the Indian Premier League cricket action at Wankhede Stadium after the Mumbai Cricket Association lifted the ban on him on Sunday. Shah Rukh had been barred from entering the stadium in 2012 for five years after an ugly fracas with a security guard and managing committee members. A source said the ban, due to continue till 2017, was cut short after Shah Rukh called MCA chief Sharad Pawar requesting him to sort out the issue. “It was decided the ban imposed on IPL’s Kolkata franchise owner Shah Rukh Khan should be lifted. With the prior approval of our president Sharad Pawar, it was proposed by me that the ban on him be lifted and the managing committee approved it unanimously. Therefore, the ban on his entry at Wankhede Stadium has been revoked,” said Mumbai Cricket Association vice-president Ashish Shelar. Source: The Asian AgeImage: flickr.com
