Saturday, November 28th, 2015, By Jung Yeon-Jin (info@koreatimes.com), Prosecutors asked that Cho Sung-jin, head of LG Electronics' home appliance division, be sentenced to 10 months in prison for damaging its rival Samsung Electronics’ washing machine ahead of the IFA electronics show in September. The prosecution said, "Although (Cho) intentionally damaged Samsung's washing machine and approved press releases diminishing its quality, he did not regret it. A term of imprisonment is inevitable as he continued to delay the appearance in the court," during the final trial on Nov.17. Cho was accused of damaging Samsung's three Crystal Blue washing machines at the event held in Berlin, Germany in September of last year. Although LG Electronics claimed that his behavior was just part of testing its rival's product, the prosecution, which believes the damage was intentional, indicted him as well as other executives.
