US President Donald Trump drove past supporters on Sunday outside the hospital where he was being treated for Covid-19. Seen in a dark face mask, waving to crowds, the president’s motorcade rolled past before returning to the Walter Reed military hospital near Washington.

However, shortly before leaving the motorcade, Trump tweeted to surprise supporters.

“We’re going to pay a little surprise to some of the great patriots that we have out on the street,” Trump said in a video posted to Twitter shortly before his appearance.

“I’m about to make a little surprise visit.”

Trump also said he “learned a lot about COVID” by “really going to school,” as he has battled the virus in hospital. “This is real school. This isn’t the ‘let’s read the books school’ and I get it, and I understand it, and it’s a very interesting thing,” he added.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump has also faced criticism in the incident, citing the issue as a “dangerous political stunt”.

White House spokesman Jude Derry said in a statement that President Trump left the hospital for a while to surprise supporters. He quickly returned to Walter Reed’s presidential suite. “He (Donald Trump) went out from the hospital with the permission of doctors and ‘appropriate action’,” the spokesman also said.

Earlier on Sunday, Trump’s medical team said the president’s condition was improving. He may be released from the hospital on Monday.

Dr. Brian Garibaldi, a specialist in complex diseases of the lungs, said Trump was given the first dose of dexamethasone on Saturday. Besides, the second dose of Remdesivir, an experimental drug for Covid-19, was given. “No side effects were seen in the body of the president,” he added Source: https://www.daily-bangladesh.com/
