Ssangyong Motor Unveils Tivoli Long Body Concept Car

By Lee Kyung-H0 (info@koreatimes.com): Ssangyong Motor unveiled its concept car XLV-Air and XAV-Adventure at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2015. The XLV-Air is a mass-production concept car which is developed ahead of the releasing of the compact SUV Tivoli Long Body. The concept car expresses the power of the nature and its dynamics on the basis of Ssangyong Motor’s design philosophy “Nature-born 3Motion.” Its powertrain portfolio includes a 1.6-liter gasoline and diesel which comply with the Euro 6 gas emission standards, while featuring the combination of six-speed automatic and manual transmission, with the optional 4W drive system. The XAV-Adventure is a concept car with its design embodying the respect for Ssangyong’s flagship SUV Korando and re-interpretation of traditional off-roader. In the meantime, Ssangyong Motor used the Frankfurt Motor Show as a place to announce the official sales launch of the Tivoli Diesel in Europe. By the end of this year, Ssangyong Motor plans to make an entry into eight new European markets, including Denmark, Finland, and three Baltic states, bringing the total number of countries where it is engaged in marketing, up to 122 from current 114. vSource: http://www.koreaittimes.com/

Peugeot Exalt Digitally Modified to Look Production-Ready Car

The recently revealed Exalt show car is a stunner, a good-looking motor even by the high design standards Peugeot enforces upon itself when it comes to concepts. The automaker has a very long history of striking and/or beautiful concepts, but the Exalt is special because it doesn’t look a million miles away from production. That’s why it didn’t take much for Cavalino to turn the Exalt into something you could believably see in a Peugeot showroom. The headlights and grille are different, the rims appear to be from the 508 sedan and the paint is no longer two-tone, but that’s about as far as the modifications go, by the looks of it. He also added door handles the lack of which would have been very noticeable… But all this brings uncertain thoughts to mind. Peugeot is said to be bringing the Exalt concept to China, which may or may not mean anything by itself, but I think it could also sit very nicely at the top of the automaker’s Euro range. It probably would not sell terribly well, not be the best to drive and be quiet expensive (think of it as a modern Pug equivalent of the stunning, but not really recommendable Citroen C6). However, the five or six people that would buy it would defend it to death and get a nice profit return in a few decades’ time when the grandkids sell it on to a museum. Ferrari's Imaginary Maserati Quattroporte Rival Rendered

Take a good look at the digitally-created four-door Ferrari you see here, because it will probably never happen, at least not during the reign of signiore di Montezemolo who is adamant they need to keep sales figures down to preserve exclusivity. The rendering is of an imaginary rival to the Maserati Quattroporte, featuring the headlights from the FF (the most practical car in their range) and an elongated shape that is so atypical for a modern Ferrari. As an actual, real model, its creator X-Tomi says it would sit above the Maserati, being a more powerful, more exclusive model in its own right. I'd add that it would also most likely feature the unique all-wheel drive system borrowed from the FF, rather than the Maserati system, again, to preserve exclusivity. Not a bad idea to take the time and dream up a modern Ferrari sedan, but don’t expect to see one in the coming decade, looking at the way things are going now.
