
Global pandemic coronavirus (COVID-19) has claimed over 649,000 lives, reports Worldometer. According to the survey agency, a total of 649,458 have died globally from the deadly virus and 16,261,356 have been diagnosed while 9,952,172 of them have recovered.
The virus, that first reported in Wuhan of Hubei province in China late last year, is now affecting 215 countries and territories around the world and two international conveyances.
The United States has the highest number of deaths and cases. So far, 4,317,424 people have been infected with the virus in the US. Of them, 149,407 have died while 2,061,695 have recovered.
South American country Brazil has the second-highest deaths and cases. So far, 2,396,434 people have been diagnosed with the virus in the country. 86,496 of them died while 1,617,480 have recovered in the country so far.
The United Kingdom has the third-highest number of deaths and tenth-highest cases from coronavirus. So far, 45,738 people have died of the virus in the UK while the number of infected is 298,681.
Mexico surpassed Italy and become the fourth highest death nation. So far, 43,374 people died of the virus in the country while 385,036 have infected and 247,178 have recovered.
Italy has the fifth-highest number of deaths. So far, 35,102 people died of the virus in Italy while 245,864 people have been infected. Of them, 198,320 have recovered.
