The United Kingdom authorities will provide its first doses of COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday, said the country’s health department.
According to a report in ABC News, 50 hospitals have been initially identified as vaccination sites. As coroners, health workers, the elderly, and care home workers will be the first to receive the vaccine.
British Health Minister Matt Hancock described the launch of the vaccine as a ‘historic moment’. He urged everyone to play a role in preventing the spread of the virus.
On December 2, the UK approved the use of the coronavirus vaccine, a joint venture between Pfizer and BioNTech. They are the first country in the world to approve the use of this vaccine.The US-based drug maker company Pfizer and the German company BioNTech claim that their vaccine is 95 percent effective.
