Russian President Vladimir Putin has urged representatives of electoral commissions of all levels to do their best in order to create an open voting system in Russia, taking into consideration previous election campaigns. In the course of a meeting with representatives of electoral commissions of all levels, Putin asked them to set forward their suggestions “what else we need to do in order to make our voting system more open so that no one has doubts that it works to the highest organizational and political standard.” The Russian leader also noted that it’s necessary to show that the Russian voting system is “transparent and equally treats all the candidates seeking to be elected at every level and respects rights of all the people involved in an electoral process,” Putin added.
